I have used .22 Subsonic very successfully in my S&W M&P15-22 despite the manual stating that subsonic ammo would function poorly. It is accurate enough for any shooting besides match or sub-MOA target shooting. The only negative would be the lack of copper jacket or wash but a decent cleaning will take care of that.
